At Astha Dental Clinic, we provide consultations for any of the following oral and maxillofacial issues:
Facial trauma – as a result of accidents or treatments for cancer, reconstructive surgery may be required to restore function and improve appearance.
Facial deformity – abnormal facial growth may produce an imbalance in the growth of the upper and lower jaws, producing abnormal bites. These include: protrusion of the front teeth, front teeth not meeting (anterior open bite), overbite, underbite and crossbite. When regular dental treatments cannot correct these conditions, surgical intervention may be required.
Salivary gland surgery – the major salivary glands can become swollen and painful for many reasons including the build-up of salivary stones (sialoliths), infection with bacteria (sialadenitis) or viruses (such as mumps). Growths, benign and malignant, may also develop within salivary glands.
Oral Medicine – this branch of dentistry deals with conditions affecting mouth and peri-oral soft tissue (including the oral mucosa, lips and face). It focuses on chronic recurrent and medically related disorders of the mouth, their diagnosis and non-surgical management.
